Welcome, Devotees!
Taking care of yourself is an important part of taking care of your Gods and Spirits. Try one of these:
- Home Maintenance: Make your bed. No, seriously. It will make your room feel so much tidier and more inviting the next time you get some rest. Even little instances of cleaning and tidying can make a home more hospitable to the Gods and Spirits.
- Build Others Up: We all have times where we find it difficult to ask others for help–and we’ve all been in situations where we wanted to help our loved ones, but didn’t know what to do. Feeling helpless sucks! Is there something in your life you’ve tried tackling by yourself, without any success? Think of someone who can help you today. People like knowing they’re needed, and our loved ones want to do all they can to help us. Ask for that help today–you’ll be glad you did.
- Self Improvement: Ask someone close to you to tell you three things they like about you. Think about those three things, and imagine ways to use them to help others around you.
Today in the Hellenic Calendar:
- Today is the 10th of the lunar month.
- In Hellenic traditions, the first few days of a new lunar month tend to be special days for honoring important Deities in one’s area. In the Athenian calendar, today is sacred to Helios the Sun and Rhea the Mother of the Gods, and is associated with the completion of small cycles.
- If you like incorporating daily hymns into your prayers, Drew Campbell recommends the following prayers for today: To Gaia (the Earth); To Pan (“All”); To the Nymphai; and To the Horai (Seasons).
- Later This Week: Tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday (2-4 October) mark the Athenian Thesmophoria, a festival to Demeter.
Daily Reminder: If you know of any resources you’d like us to incorporate on our site, or any sites/projects you’d like us to signal boost, send us an ask or fanmail!
