darmokontheocean:

TL;DR – Help me make my October goal of $400/month on Patreon by pledging just $1 so I can, A) create stories about and for marginalized people who are often erased from fiction and media, and B) support my struggling, desperate family, including my cinnamon roll of a 2-year-old.

Longish Version: If you have any spare cash, even just $1 a month (LIKE, REALLY, REALLY, IT’S NOT A LIE, I PROMISE – JUST $1 A MONTH IS EPIC AND AMAZING!), would you consider making a pledge to my Patreon HERE

I write stories and essays (oh, and a fucking novel! Somebody at NPR said its only flaw was that it ended!). It’s how I help to make ends meet because it’s the only work I can consistently do with my disabilities (it’s not as physically demanding as my TA job). But to write I have to have money in the mean time to cover food and bills. (A need-money-to -make-money sort of thing). That’s where Patreon comes in. I truly believe writing is the only way I have to lift my family up out of life-threatening poverty, but I need your help to do it.

There’s only a week left to meet my October goal of $400/month, and I’m currently at $340/month. $60 more in pledges is a lot, but I wouldn’t be making this post if I didn’t think it was possible, if I didn’t believe in the goodwill of others that has already on numerous occasions literally saved me and my family from utter despair.

So, please reblog if it’s not too much trouble. Please pledge $1/month if you have the financial means and will to do so. It could be the difference between homelessness and a stable home for us. Thanks.
