Mabon Cider Recipe
2 quarts apple cider
3 cinnamon sticks
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. whole cloves
1/3 tsp. salt
3 dashes nutmeg
A mabon feast is never complete without a proper beverage. Combine all ingredients in your cauldron (or saucepan) and bring to a boil. Simmer and stir for 30 minutes with a wooden spoon or large cinnamon stick. Strain to remove spices.
Hot: Serve with a cinnamon stick and a dash of cinnamon on top. Add a pat of butter to your cup before serving to enhance deliciosity.
Chilled: Pour over ice
Hard: Spiced rum, apple liqueur, and hard cider can all add to the ‘spirit’ of this Mabon treat.
Enjoy!
