I just wanted to share an idea that I came up with for a protection amulet that you can make pretty easily. You will need the following items:
A medium sized cinnamon stick (not too tiny, not too giant)
Dried rosemary
Dried basil
Pink salt (any salt works)
White or black, pillar or jar candle
Marker (sharpie prefered)
String
A lighter (for the candle)
Clear nail polish (optional)
To make your own, start by lighting the candle. Doing this now will make the rest of the process easier. Take the cinnamon stick and place one finger under the opening, this way the herbs and salt won’t fall out. Take a pinch of each herb and a pinch of the salt and fill up the cinnamon stick.
Once you’ve got it almost full, tilt the candle so that the melted wax can form a film over the open end of the stick. This part is a bit tricky and you might lose a little herb as you go along, that’s fine. The trick is to build up the wax over a few minutes so that the end is sealed. Then repeat the process with the other end of the cinnamon stick.
After this is done, take a paper clip or knife (be careful if using a sharp object) and scrape off any extra wax from the sides of the stick to clean it up. Then, take the sharpie or pen and draw a sigil of protection. You can make your own or borrow one from online like I did. Let it dry and then you can seal it with some clear nail polish if you like.
Finally, wrap your string several times around the top portion of the stick and tie a knot. You can seal the knot with clear nail polish again if you want it to last and be more secure. Enchant the amulet and put your intention into it.
You can customize this as much as you want and change the herbs, etc. to your preferences. I chose my ingredients due to their associations with protection:
Basil – protects, brings in positive energies, used in exorcisms
Rosemary – purifies, clears out negativity, associated with holy energy
Pink salt – purifies, protects
Cinnamon – puts out a firey energy of protection, encourages good health, brings good luck
These are just the attributes I’ve found are associated with these ingredients. Pick what you feel will work for you.
I hope you found this useful and try it out for yourself!
